About Us here at McAussies
We have had Standard Aussies as a part of our family for several years, working along side us moving and sorting cattle and with our sheep. They are a great breed, loving, energetic, and very loyal.
Our favorite was a Red-Tri female named Red. When she passed away due to cancer we knew we wanted another Aussie as great as she was. We found Toy and Mini Aussies that are smaller sized but with the same temperament and confirmation!
The next 2 years we spent looking for just the right type of Toy Aussie. We discovered that there are so many breeders out there that were breeding solely for smaller toy size and not for Quality True Aussie Type. It was decided that if we wanted to have a smaller Quality Aussie with good bone structure and confirmation, we must do it ourselves.
After a lot of looking we found Gerri Stanfill and Ruth Vanderhoof in Oregon. They share the same goal of producing True Aussie Type dogs in a small package. We thank them and a close group of their friends for guiding us down the right path.
